Angus Burton, Ram and me are going to join the scouts. This is because it has, in the words of our teacher Miss Piggott, “A NEW LEADER WHO KNOWS A THING OR TWO ABOUT ADVENTURE”. (Miss Piggott has now recovered from the alleged Swine flu btw). The new leader of the scouting movement is Bear Grylls. Bear has an IMPRESSIVE TRACK RECORD. He has crossed oceans in an open boat, got to the top of Mount Everest (not in an open boat) and once powered a paraglider to 29,000ft in the Himalayas. Angus Burton said he might as well have landed on the top of Everest that way rather than have to STRIDE ALL THE WAY UP IT.
Bear Grylls’s youngest son is called Huckleberry and was born on a houseboat. Ram thinks Bear might have GREEN CREDENTIALS. Angus Burton wanted to know if his dog Henry VIII could also join the scouts because he says that as well as being an eco terrier Henry VIII is an INTREPID EXPLORER because he’s always getting LOST BY THE CANAL. We don’t think a DOG SCOUT would be a good idea.
We are wondering if we will HAVE TO PACK BAGS IN SUPERMARKETS TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SCOUTS as this would BE AN ISSUE FOR RAM AND ME as Ram DOESN’T TOUCH MEAT and I might be expected to pack sandwiches that have been FLOWN IN FROM NORWAY.

He was joined by OSCAR WINNING ACTRESS and HARRY POTTER star Emma Thompson to support London’s film-makers, to help encourage ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY FILMING . We are hoping that Boris might like to film the scouts going up Everest one day or become THE FIRST LONDON MAYOR TO BECOME A SCOUT LEADER because there is a shortage.
