Hilary has collaborated with illustrator, Steve Johnson, to produce a stunning poster to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. At a time when borders and barriers are being established to divide communities the story tells of the importance of community cohesion and tolerance.
Free to download for schools, libraries and community groups together with Teachers’ Notes it’s hoped that the moving story will help children to work together towards a more peaceful future.

Launch of Jasper Space Dog

Jasper Space Dog, the latest book from Hilary, illustrated by Lewis James, has been released to support space topics in schools and to mark the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing on July 20th, 1969. Six hours later, on the 21st July, Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the lunar surface.
Mixing facts about space travel with hilarious ideas about the moon, Jasper Space Dog was selected as Love Reading4Kids Book of the Month in April and described by Julia Eccleshare as a book where “there’s much to enjoy as well as much to learn from this introduction to an important topic”. Hilary will be taking part in several events to mark the Summer Reading Challenge the theme of which, this year, is Space Chase.

Written to mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landings in July 2019 and to tie in with the National Curriculum, Jasper: Space Dog is the first in a series of hilarious stories aimed at emerging independent readers.
Written by award winning author, Hilary Robinson (Mixed Up Fairy Tales/Where The Poppies Now Grow), Jasper: Space Dog is delightfully illustrated by Lewis James, a Prince’s Trust Ambassador. Lewis is mentored through Strauss House Productions by Mandy Stanley. Working alongside literary consultants, an expert in planetary science the story cleverly interweaves established facts and hilarious ideas about space, space travel and the moon landings. Told in the form of letters, Charlie Tanner and his dog Jasper consult experts with a view to achieving their own astrophysical ambitions.
Future titles will see Charlie Tanner and Jasper find out about Everest, the Vikings, Eco Living and more!
